How does it work?

Helen offers sleep support through flexible online consultations. This means that you can choose the level of support that is right for you.

Start with an initial consultation. Book follow-up consultations as and when you need them.

A written summary will be provided for each consultation, as a reminder of what was discussed.

Book a free 15-minute chat

Helen will ask about your situation, explain how the consultations work, and answer any questions you might have.

We will also discuss and agree on whether a sleep diary is needed before our initial consultation.

If you would like to go ahead, Helen can book you in for an initial consultation straightaway, or you are welcome to take your time, have a think and book at your leisure using the booking system.

What happens next

Once you have booked an initial consultation, Helen will send you a questionnaire to gather information about your situation and goals, along with a sleep diary and instructions if needed.

Helen will review your information and sleep diaries before the consultation.

During the consultation, Helen will work with you to understand the sleep problem you are facing and the evidence-based options to address it.

Helen will offer ideas and adaptations for different personalities, special educational needs, situations and parenting styles.

Together, we will come up with a manageable plan that you are happy with.

FAQs

  • No, Helen works through online consultations and does not currently offer home visits.

  • Unfortunately this question is impossible to answer, as it depends on the situation, the type of approach you choose to take, and how you implement it. Helen will discuss this with you in consultation based on your situation.

  • Assessment of Special Educational Needs is not included as part of a sleep consultation. However, Helen will consider all the known and presenting needs and offer tailored support.

  • Yes absolutely - Helen will always discuss values and offer choices for parents and carers. This concern is most often raised by parents of little ones who are struggling with very broken sleep but do not want to sleep train - if this is your situation, Helen can still offer you effective, evidence-based support.

  • Sometimes. I understand that parents want to get started quickly and may not want to wait for two weeks. This is the main reason I recommend having a quick chat before booking an initial consultation, as there are some situations in which we may not need a sleep diary and can get started sooner.

In general, if your child’s sleep pattern is not the same every day (including weekends), we will probably need a sleep diary.

In general, we don’t need a sleep diary for babies, especially younger babies.

“I can't thank you enough for your help with [child]. Not only are we sleeping through the night, he's happily falling asleep in the pram and loud cafes! He also seems happier! Thank you!!”
